Handbag, Moschino, Italian, 1996

Leather and metal

Franco Moschino opened his Milanese fashion house in 1983. His designs were playful, outré and often parodied the fashion industry and system. After the designer’s premature death in 1994, the company continued to honour his legacy. This classic leather handbag (with shoulder strap) resembles a surreal confection with chocolate dripping down a vanilla coloured base. Called 'Fudge the Fashionistas, Let them Eat Cake' the company shot the advertising campaign for this handbag in a bakery.
